LEE PALMER 2015
I started working on this project in the summer of 2014. It started with a 10 day trip to Nashville in July, which is home to great writers and performers of all genres, not just country. Two of the songs on this CD were from that trip and I have another half dozen in the can from that excursion.
On this record, I have a mix of former session mates (Al Cross, David Woodhead, Elmer Ferrer and Roly Platt) and new musical friends (Lance Anderson and Joaquin Nuñez ). I was extremely fortunate to have Mary McKay lend her smooth vocal styling’s to the CD. She is featured throughout and in particular, on the tracks Like Elway and Have a Wonderful Life. My good friend, guitarist and co-producer, Elmer Ferrer was even more involved in this project than the last two releases in 2013 (One Take) and 2014 (60 Clicks).
The title track, Like Elway, really set the stage for the whole record. A true account of a street musician I chatted with on the honky-tonk strip on Broadway, in Nashville. I see it as a testament to the resilience of mankind to fall, recover and keep movin’ on.
I continue to learn each time I go into the studio. I feel this is my best effort yet and I am extremely thankful to those who have helped me on my journey.BUY NOW
